Eurocontrol has 15 years’ experience developing optical and electro-optical systems for servocontrolled line of sight and tracking directors installed in anti-aircraft naval gun mountings. Systems can be supplied with integrated laser range finders, LLTV sensors and IR cameras for application in a comprehensive range of operating situations. Stabilised versions are also available for on-the-move tracking applications. Sometimes, when no vertical reference data is available, Eurocontrol provides a special device for this purpose. The latest systems adopt a direct drive solution, with elevation and azimuth movements controlled by brushless torque motors for zero backlash positioning and low maintenance.
